Our key asset is our people – not only our best in class sales force, which is effectively the sales and marketing department of so many small businesses, but also all those who work so hard and so effectively in making sure we deliver the best possible products and service to our customers. We will always continue to invest in our people and ensure they have all the skills required to ensure our business delivers what our customers expect.
On top of an excellent salary, our generous package can include: Incentive bonus schemes, Company pension scheme, Life assurance, Company Car, discounts on a variety of events including sporting events, shows and concerts.
There are Yell rewards too - our own internal awards scheme that recognises people who go the extra mile. There is an array of recognition schemes. As a fast paced, ambitious and lively business, we're serious about recognising and rewarding success.
Yell seeks to recruit the best people in the market place and when it comes to career progression, the sky’s the limit, we have many senior managers who started their careers at Yell and are now an integral part of our current and future success. Wherever you find yourself, you’ll benefit from all the opportunities, and more, that you’d expect from a future-focussed business like ours.
Yell’s headquarters are in a fantastic location right by Reading train station and town centre shops, cafes and restaurants. Yell are spread across the top six floors of a new eco friendly building; One Reading Central. All floors have a similar set up with open plan work spaces, break out areas and meeting rooms with full video conferencing set up. The top floor is mainly dedicated to the subsidised restaurant and seating area (serving hot and cold food at breakfast and lunch and drinks throughout the day) and the discounted fully equipped gym (access to the gym, classes and showers).
Yell supports equal opportunities and values diversity. We are an Equal Opportunities Employer, committed to the employment of people with disabilities, and guarantee an interview for those who meet minimum selection criteria. We provide training and development for people with disabilities, tailored where appropriate, to ensure they have the opportunity to achieve their potential. If a Yell person becomes disabled while in our employment, we will do our best to retain them, including consulting them about their requirements, making appropriate adjustments, and providing alternative suitable provisions.
Corporate responsibility and governance is about giving our shareholders and other stakeholders confidence that Yell is a well-managed and responsible business. To do this, we have developed a focused strategy, over and above being a day to day responsible business, which is aimed at people in the communities in which they live and work.
Yell continues to be an organisation that embraces and benefits from its diverse workforce and continues to value the contribution of all the individuals that operate within it. In order to further realise the benefits of diversity in the workplace we are looking to create a set of mentoring relationships, networks and forums to support the development of this diversity across all areas and levels of our organisation.
We have launched the Women at Yell Network - W.A.Y. is a network that provides the opportunity for all members of our Yell team to support the advancement of women in the workplace. Secondly we have introduced a WAY Network Committee - the committee will define the specific objectives of the network. Finally we have developed a Mentoring Programme to allow selected individual's within the business to be partnered with a mentor to enable them to develop their capabilities outside of their current role and responsibilities.
We have launched the Multiculturalism at Yell Network - M.A.Y. is a network that provides the opportunity for all members of our Yell team to support the advancement of those from a multicultural background in the workplace.
